On-line Entry is now closed
Registration will this year be handled electronically to avoid the necessity of
having to get to Sodwana early the night before the competition starts. (You
still need to Enter Online first.)
Confirmed details to follow, but each participating Sodwana Dive Centre will
have details daily and the shootout camera code will be sms’d to participants at
17h00 on the evening before the competition starts.
A central marquee will not be used this year, as it has been decided to include
all Sodwana operators with daily events as follows:
Thursday evening - at Reefteach
Friday evening - A Day in Africa
Sat prize giving in the restaurant at Sodwana Bay Lodge.
Dates:
- Competition dates: 12th to 15th October 2011.
- Video entrants may register on the evening of the 11th October 2011

Entry Fees:
- Competition Entry costs R500.
- You may enter Digital Still AND Video at no
extra charge.
- The entry fee entitles you to enter 2 images or videos (or one image and one
video) into any one of the categories (see below).
- You may choose to submit additional images. You may do so at an additional cost
of R50 per image – these amounts will be collected from you when you submit your
images.
- Payment info is provided as part of the online entry process.
- Late entrants will pay the same fee, but will not receive a shootout t-shirt as
part of their welcome pack.

Conservation Rules
We have adopted the Conservation Rules established by EPIC. Marine life should
never be stressed or endangered for the sake of a photo or video clip.
Conservation rules will apply to all entries and decisions will be final.
Entries suspected of exhibiting the following behaviour will be disqualified:
In 2009 we launched a new conservation initiative where we had independent
observers observe divers underwater for any misconduct. All entrants had to wear
a luminous disc with their entrant number on it as to be easily identified by
the observers. This year we will once again work with SANBI on this initiative.
